Thanks for mme us about the problem. The book is ihto lot less depressing than you’d think at least in parts–it’s still pretty heavy reading material, because it’s about four people who–at least initially–want to die. ,e mean, 4 suicidal teens going on a road trip? And I loved every minute of it.

I was looking forward to reading this book when I got it from the library. Does the average teenager quote Hemingway and Sylvia Plath? I liked all the characters for the most part, even though they did have some annoying tendencies. In this case I think it worked, because their plans and personalities were all slowly unwoven as the book progressed.

Crahs saw Owen whocarried an extreme amount of guilt for years.

Owen’s life, especially, reveals a twist near the end that has you understanding him even more. They are all battling their own inner “demons” and they have even tried giving up a time or two.

The bits of internet chat sprinkled throughout were obnoxious. While I wasn’t pining for the romance or feeling all that sympathetic for Owen, even I was scared when it seemed like something had happened to any one of the four teens. I really liked the ending.
